Our Heritage
Our company began when Rich Boyce founded Boyce Recreation in 1969 with his office in Wellsville, Utah. He first represented the states of Utah and Wyoming, and later acquired Montana and Idaho. After some years, he expanded to Nevada. In 1992, Steve Kyrioupoulos began working with Rich and in 2002, Rich turned over the day-to-day operations to Steve and Joan Kyrioupoulos. Boyce Recreation took on the new name of Great Western Park and Playground, Inc. Rich remains as a constant and integral part of Great Western and represents the areas of Northern Nevada and Northern Utah. In 2004, we added the Southern California territory to our family.
We have been GameTime’s exclusive representatives for 40 years. GameTime has been the leading manufacturer of commercial playground equipment for 80 years. We also represent several complementary lines of commercial parkcequipment including shelters, site furnishings, and bleachers.
Our Expertise
Our fully trained administrative staff consists of 7 full-time CAD designers as well as additional team members in order entry, customer service, and accounting. From answering your call to customizing the perfect playground, rest assured that customer service is our number one priority. We have 7 National Playground Safety Institute inspectors within our company who are also up-to-date with the guidelines from ASTM, CPSC, ADA, and IPEMA.
