Purpose of Position

Great Western Recreation builds epic outdoor playgrounds and contributes to better health and wellness for families.  This position is a chance to put ones’ marketing skills and creative rocket fuel to work in a purpose-driven environment that is making an impact on the lives of children and their families.  The Marketing Specialist is an essential member of a dynamic and exciting team and will lead the marketing and communication efforts for the company.  This position will keep Great Western up to date on the emerging marketing trends and tell the stories of the communities where we live, work, and play.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize social content strategies by developing and maintaining a social media calendar
  • Develop and post content on Great Western Recreation’s social media accounts
  • Coordinate and gather needed photography and videography for social media posts and marketing materials
  • Update current website content and write new content for Great Western Recreation
  • Collaborate with sales, design, and various internal teams to gather information and ideas for marketing projects
  • Build and maintain catalog for Great Western Recreation annually
  • Design trade show layout and attend various events
  • Assist in compiling RFP packets and presentations
  • Coordinate community events
  • Ability to provide reports on the marketing successes and failures over given timeframes
  • General understanding of PPC, SEO, and SEM, and the skill to work with third-party digital marketing agencies to execute these marketing initiatives
  • Respond to leads and assign to appropriate department
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities
  • Work with external agencies and vendors to execute marketing programs
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field, or 2+ years of experience, or a combination of both education and experience
  • Skilled in writing and editing content with attention to detail
  • Experience with email service providers such as MailChimp, HubSpot, or Constant Contact
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and vendors under tight deadlines
  • Google analytics, AdWords, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of various marketing and analytic tools
  • Excellent analytical skills and an understanding for data analysis
